Well, I’m an architect (really), but maybe you can define me a dilettante (or, if you want, an amateur). I spent my last three years working as a graphic designer in my small little hometown (often I refer to it as my little prison, la mia piccola prigione.) Well, it turned out that selling graphic design in a place like Viterbo is just a case of wishful thinking. I really enjoy studying typography, reading (almost everything), drawing, writing (in both senses, physically, also known as calligraphy, and in the usual logocentric way), and also trying to make my computer doing something for me (often useless thing.)

2009 is announced as an annus horribilis and the already horribils way my business was going is worsening, so I have a lot of time, and I decided to take care of my site transforming it in a blog.

I will post thoughts and ‘experiments’, mainly about design, typography, calligraphy and also, well, programming. You can read my site as an open exercise book (If you like).

I will also post, in the flâneur section of the home page, link to other sites, blogs, etc., that I’ve found interesting (not only about design or programming, also about politics and culture.)

Sometimes I will write in my funny english, sometimes in italian.

I will also post sometimes about the books I am reading (mainly in Italian) and about politics (mainly in Italian), I’m also planning a series of posts called “crash courses in italian dream”, for the non italian that want to understand the universal message of italian decline.

Eccomi, sono un architetto (davvero), ma forse è meglio definirmi un dilettante. Negli ultimi tre anni ho lavorato come grafico nella mia piccola città (che spesso chiamo la mia piccola prigione). Gli affari, come si poteva immaginare, non vanno molto bene a vendere grafica a Viterbo, per cui ho deciso di trasformare questo sito in una specie di blog, per occupare il tempo libero.

Qui potrai trovare esercizi, esperimenti, pensieri, come se leggessi un mio quaderno di appunti sulle cose che sto studiando. Mi interessa la grafica, la tipografia, la scrittura (sia ne senso fisico, ok, quella che si chiama calligrafia, che nel normale senso logocentrico). Mi interessa anche provare a far fare al mio computer cose (spesso inutili), per cui ci sono esperimenti ed esercizi di python.

Per il resto, potrai trovare dei link a siti dove ho letto cose interessanti (non solo sul design e la programmazione, ma anche sulla politica e la cultura).

Ogni tanto parlerò dei libri che sto leggendo, o che ho letto, di ‘politica’ (in senso lato), ecc. A volte scriverò in inglese (con il mio inglese buffo) e a volte in italiano.
